Kim Victoria Cattrall (born August 21st, 1956) is a Canadian-born British actress best known for her role in the role of Samantha Jones in the HBO series Sex and the City for which she received five Emmy Award nominations and four Golden Globe Award nominations winning the 2002 Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. Samantha Jones reprised her role in the film Sex and the City (2008) as well as Sex and the City 2 (2010). Her other notable roles include her roles as a leading actress in the films of the 1980s Police Academy Big Trouble in Little China Mannequin and Porky's. Her first role that was acknowledged as hers was in the movie Abbott and Costello Go to Mars where she played the part of a Venusian guard. Later that year, after starring as a character in Blood Alley she was awarded the Golden Globe in the most promising newcomer category.
